This is usually the point where I would say "But what did it do?"
But I can't even get the software onto my phone!
It says (said actually, because LG Mobile has closed) that the LG GD510 needed an update, but when I came to update, it said that I was on the latest firmware.
I am running V10G, and I know there is an update because one of the first models it had for an update on LG Mobile was the GD510

Anybody else from the UK have this problem?

I get the impression that phones locked to different networks have different firmware versions allowed by the network. I don't understand that. Maybe it's simply a case of when a particular network updates the latest firmware revision allowed?
It still seems strange to me. I can understand different networks shipping their locked phones with different start firmware, but I would have expected the LG site to allow all phones to be updated to the latest firmware regardless of network.
Anybody know if that's right, and is un=locking the way to get the latest firmware revision in the UK?

If you unlock then you'll be able to update your firmware much more easily.

I don't think it's been officially released yet.

Well I got my phone unlocked on the highstreet, but it still won't update past V10C. How can I tell it has been unlocked, short of borrowing a SIM?
Also, I just wonder if it is the fact that the provider only allows updates to a certain level, so it doesn't matter if the phone is unlocked or not?
Maybe I could borrow a SIM from someone on one of the networks that allows update to V10G? I could then update and swap the SIM back.

V10_h is officially out -- I just downloaded it. Your phone needs to be unlocked, though. Mine was locked with Orange and wouldn't install the new version, then I unlocked it and Pronto! the LGMobile Update utility informed me of the new version available and installed it!

so far it seems that it  stopped doing a very annoying thing that has been happening lately: while on the music player, the phone would automatically call the last dialed number. Some of my firends were called 15 times in a day! Other than that, I don't see anything excitingly different...

If you have headphones in, and the button on the headphone cord gets pressed, it takes you to dialled numbers, and if it gets pressed again, it'll dial the first number.
That may have been what was happening. Wink
